“Holy Grail” Found At Last Crusade Location

Sometimes Discovery Channel findings need to be taken with large grains of salt, but at face value this is pretty cool. At the ancient city of Petra in Jordan a team of researchers have discovered the biggest find of human remains and artifacts in two centuries of archeology. And amongst the artifacts lay a cup that strikingly resembles the correct choice of chalice from the end of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade – which was filmed in part at this very site in 1988.

The unassuming grail, which was preserved in the grasp of one of the 12 skeletons in “The Treasury” within Perta, is being leveraged to promote the latest episodes of “Expeditions Unknown”, where archeologist Josh Gates details the significance of the discovery. It should be noted that the cup in question is actually likely the broken top of a ceramic jug from the first century. The two-part episode aired on October 9th, and is available on Discovery+.
