Rolling Stone magazine recently released their list of the “50 Worst Album Covers of All Time,” and some of the chosen albums may surprise you.

Curious about how they decided who made the list? Rolling Stone explained their selection process: “Our criteria, besides sheer ugliness, focused on major artists who had access to professional graphic designers and really should have known better. Even some of rock music’s most revered design firms, like Hipgnosis, are among the worst offenders. We limited it to one album per artist and showed no mercy, even if the album’s music was actually good (which happens more often than you’d think).”
