Move over, nose-typing! Now there’s a brand new Guinness world record you will never be able to beat (on your own). Advancement in robotics have allowed a team from Mitsubishi Electric were able program machinery to solve a scrambled puzzle cube in 0.305 seconds. It’s literally a blink-and-you-miss-it situation, which is why high framerate cameras were used to slow down the footage for human eyes.

For comparison, the previous robot-reached record was 0.380 seconds (2018). The human-only record is currently 3.13, set by 21 year old Max Park in 2023. And the very first time the puzzle was solved by a human, inventor Erno Rubik, it took about a month. I myself have solved a Rubik’s Cube maybe 3 times in my entire life, and there was zero strategy involved in each case.
