Lost Cat Travels 1,000 Miles Trying To Get Home

WE LOVE WHEN ANIMALS MAKE THEIR WAY BACK HOME! It’s like a real life HOMEWARD BOUND STORY!

A couple from California has joyfully reunited with their cherished house cat after losing him in Yellowstone National Park, which is more than 1,000 miles from their home.

Benny and Susanne have taken many camping trips with their cats before, but this particular visit to Yellowstone ended with their cat, Rayne Beau, finding refuge at the SPCA.

Rayne Beau dashed into the woods of Yellowstone, prompting the couple to worry for his safety. They dedicated every day of their trip to searching for him.

Sixty days later, their prayers were answered when they received a notification from Pet Watch indicating Rayne Beau’s microchip ID and his whereabouts.

A local woman discovered him wandering alone in the street, recognized him as a pet, and brought him to safety.

The couple is also urging other pet owners to take preventive measures, such as using microchips or global tracking devices, to safeguard their pets.

“Definitely microchip your cat or pet and ensure the microchip is registered online,” Susanne emphasized. “Without that, we would never have been able to bring them back.”

Now that Rayne Beau is safely home and reunited with his siblings, Benny and Susanne are looking forward to taking their cats on future trips—though only when everyone is ready for the adventure.
