Five zebras will be calling the Saskatoon Forestry Fam Park and Zoo home for good. The animals were seized by conservation officers last year from a property in rural Saskatchewan and, since then, have been in the foster care of the Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park & Zoo. As of March 31st, the Government of Saskatchewan has officially transferred ownership to the zoo.
Zebras are native to Africa, and so they do not grow thick winter coats like horses or other animals that you typically see in Saskatchewan. With the warmer spring weather, they, like most of us, will likely be spending more time outside of their indoor habitat. You can see, and learn more about the zebras at the zoo open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
